About Me

Guy Lancefield Guitar playing guitar live on stage

I have a 1st Class Degree in Popular Music, Grade 8 Guitar, and I am a full-time working musician and instrumental teacher. As well as teaching, I perform regularly (80+ times per year) all over the UK and Europe in wedding and corporate event showbands.

Away from music I enjoy keeping fit, going hiking and travelling with my partner, as well as spending time at home with our cat. I also love history, which feeds my curiosity and love of learning!

I teach any style on Electric Guitar, Acoustic Guitar and Classical Guitar. This includes Rock, Metal, Pop, Jazz, Classical and everything in between.

What styles of guitar do you teach?

You will need a guitar, and then some accessories which you can see listed here.

What do I need to start?

Do I need my own guitar?

If you’re just starting out, I can recommend affordable beginner guitars. You’ll need your own to practice at home.

Do you teach children?

Yes! I teach children as young as 6. Lessons are fun, supportive, and build confidence step by step.

I offer guitar lessons in Fleet in North Hampshire and the surrounding areas (Farnham, Aldershot, Church Crookham, Camberley) within a 10 mile radius.

Do you travel to students?

I also provide online guitar lessons to students who live outside the radius that I can travel to. I use Streamyard which is easy to use and does not require you to have an account.

Do you teach online?

I don’t offer a free trial, but I always suggest booking a one off lesson first to see if its a good fit for you.

Can I try a lesson first?

I have a small number of time slots that I teach at my premises, but at present they are fully booked.
